Boyac, Poliform and Belle style director at-large Steve Cordony come together to release a limited edition range of Arflex furniture upholstered in iconic Fornasetti fabric. The resulting pieces – including designs direct from the Milan Furniture Fair – will be launched in an exhibition by Steve at Poliform Showrooms in Melbourne (26 August) and Sydney (27 August). The exhibition will continue until September 30.

Boyac is pleased to be part of an exhibition that not only showcases the work of two leading design brands, but also shows how these pieces remain relevant today. It’s especially exciting with Steve at the helm of the event as it shows how leading interior designers and stylists are using Fornasetti fabrics in a contemporary context. Included in the exhibition will be new Arflex pieces direct from Milan, including Mangold, Delphino, Cross, Match and Jules. This event is a true celebration of these two iconic brands.

ABOUT FORNASETTI
Fornasetti celebrates Piero Fornasetti (1913-1988), a Milanese painter, sculptor, decorator and engraver who created more than 11,000 items, which featured the face of soprano Lina Cavalieri. One of the most prolific designers of the 20th century, he created a colourful and witty visual vocabulary that is instantly recognisable and unceasingly engaging. Fornasetti’s son Barnaba is perpetuating the Fornasetti tradition today by continuing to produce and revive his father’s designs. At the helm of the company and its creative heart, he is the custodian of the Fornasetti legacy.

ABOUT ARFLEX
In 1947, a group of technicians based in Pirelli in Italy began experimenting with new materials and technologies in the creation of cutting-edge, modern furniture. This was the beginning of the Arflex brand, established on the meeting of technology and aesthetic sensibilities, and driven by a high level of research and experimentation. Officially presented to the public in 1951, Arflex quickly gained recognition for their manufacturing philosophy. Working with some of the most respected designers and architects of the era, including Franvo Albini, Joe Colombo, Christopher Pillet, Ettore Sottsass, the Castiglioni brothers and Carlo Bartoli, the Arflex brand spans all facets of furniture design, consistently driven by experimentation and research. Having won numerous awards and recognitions, many pieces have made their way into permanent collections at the world’s leading museums. Today, Arflex continues to be renowned for its innovative approach and exploration of new technologies, materials and designs.

Fornasetti fabrics are available through Boyac Showrooms.

The limited edition Arflex-Fornasetti Collection will be available at Poliform in store and online.
