This week on Friday Files we are profiling Judy Elliot of Verandah House for Designer Discovery!

This is where we give you an insight into the lives and personalities of Australia’s leading Architects and Interior Designers.

This week we chat with Judy Elliot about innovative prints and vacations in Bali.

FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION?

It would definitely be Bali; I just love everything about it, the weather, the beaches, the food. I always come back feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to tackle my next big design job!

PLAIN OR PATTERN?

When it comes to fabrics I have to admit that I love pattern! I feel it just adds so much depth and interest to a room. It takes a true decorator to know which patterns can live together too.

PERKS OF THE JOB?

Travelling is a huge perk of my job. I love exploring new places and whether it be a trip to inspire or for a job I always enjoy it. Redecorating my own home on a regular basis is also an occupational hazard, a pleasant one though.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR AESTHETIC?

We create unique interiors that add a fresh interpretation to classic designs. Something traditional enough that can age with the client but still remain fresh and contemporary.

FAVOURITE BOYAC BRAND & WHY?

It would have to be Thibaut! It’s a family run business which appeals to me in this age of large corporations and faceless businesses. I also love their amazing use of colour and innovative classic prints which are fun, affordable and perfect for sunny Queensland.
