Friday Files – PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue – Colour of the Year 2020

The Pantone Colour Institute has done it again! As you would no doubt already know, this year’s Pantone colour of the year is classic blue. This is their reason why.

For the beginning of a new and uncertain decade, Pantone wanted a comforting, reassuring colour. A colour that would protect and help us focus while facing the world’s chaos:

“It’s only natural that we gravitate towards colours that bring a sense of peace, clarity, and even protection”, said Laurie Pressman, the Vice President of the Pantone Colour Institute. 

“Classic Blue, suggestive of the sky at dusk, is instilling calm, confidence and connection. This reassuring shade highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation from which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era”, explained Laurie Pressman.

Indeed! This timeless and enduring blue hue is the perfect colour of serenity and peace.
