Friday Files – Bute New Collection

Friday Files – Bute New Collection

Founded in 1947 by the 5th Marquess of Bute with the sole purpose of providing employment for veterans returning home from the Second World War, Bute offers high-performance wool textiles suitable in numerous settings – healthcare, marine, hospitality, auditoria…

Bute is presenting new high-performance fabrics created in collaboration with Tom Dixon Studio.

The first one is called Magic and is environmentally responsible and naturally derived.

Magic is a luxury and hard-wearing upholstery fabric, using yarns recycled from waste garments which have been broken down and re-spun into a refined and soft yarn.

This beautiful wool Melton is a high-performance fabric reaching 100,000 Martindale rubs – sure to be long lasting in even the most demanding of interior environments.

The colour palette is very wide with its 24 colours, featuring soft pastels as well as deep rich hues. These shades are enhanced by the textural yarn adding depth to the final fabric.

Magic is ideal for both contract and residential upholstery and drapery.

Denim is a beautiful wool and cotton blend that is suitable for both contract and domestic applications with its 50,000 Martindale rubs.

Available in 6 rich colours, its unique aesthetic was inspired by Denim workwear and created in partnership with Tom Dixon Studio.

Also created in partnership with Tom Dixon Studio, Micro Boucle is a textured wool-silk featuring subtle contrasting flecks. Reaching 100,000 Martindale rubs, Micro Boucle is a very resistant textile that can be used both in commercial and residential settings.
