Mirabel was established in Victoria 1998. It is the only organisation in Australia specifically addressing the needs of children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental drug use. Mirabel supports children aged 0-17 years and works at restoring a child’s sense of self-worth, belonging and hope for the future in order for them to reach their full potential as young adults.

Design for Mirabel takes ten of Australia’s finest interior designers and invites them to design a room using products donated by leading Australian and international brands.

Each designer will create an amazing, inspirational room to raise funds for The Mirabel Foundation. All rooms will be filled with new merchandise kindly donated by Australian and International brands, and then sold for up to 50 – 70 percent off the retail pricing!

All of the proceeds raised from the inaugural Design for Mirabel event will be put towards building a new Mirabel Home. Jane Rowe – CEO of The Mirabel Foundation said, “It’s always been a dream to have our own premises in Melbourne. A building that serves not only as the office and headquarters for the Mirabel team but also a place where Mirabel children, young people and their carers can drop by at any time. Somewhere for us all to call home.”

The event runs over three days. On Thursday 24th July Design for Mirabel we will launched followed by a 2 day public viewing and sale on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th July which is open to trade, interior design students and the general public where all unsold items will be available to purchase.

The event will be located at:   Twotonmax, 124 Langford Street, North Melbourne
