Friday Files – Creation Baumann used in the Queensland Museum’s Egyptian Mummies Exhibition

The Queensland Museum’s “Egyptian Mummies – Exploring Ancient Lives” used Creation Baumann fabrics as part of their exhibition displays. These carefully specified fabrics were chosen because they passed a number of tests that ensured their suitability to preserve and protect artefacts. This included the Oddy Test, a procedure created at the British Museum to test materials for safety and corrosiveness in and around delicate art objects. Successful pH Value and Colourfastness Tests were also undertaken, along with their compliance with Environmental Protection Standards and Human Ecology Standards.

Make sure you catch this exceptional exhibition featuring more than 200 artefacts from the world famous Egyptian collections of the British Museum until 26 August, 2018.
