Friday Files – FURNISHINGS TO FASHION

Traditionally, Boyac and our suppliers cater to interior related soft furnishings. This however is not always the case, quite a number of our textiles have featured beautifully on the runway and in fashion magazines!

We love seeing how many of our fabrics naturally transform into wearable pieces.

Most recently, Watts of Westminster’s ‘Montepulciano’ was featured in Yves Saint Laurent 2017 Ready to Wear Collection by Anthony Vaccarello. This upholstery weight fabric showcased beautifully in the form of a number of statement jackets.

Another stunning example of our textiles in the fashion world is the MYB lace. Worn famously in 1984 by Princess Diana was a show stopping red gown, as well as most recently Kate Middleton’s wedding dress! MYB lace has proven to be quite versatile, appearing just as at home in casual attire.

Another longstanding textile supplier featured in the fashion world is our very own Bute. It’s rich family history of textile production on the Isle of Bute, it is not surprising that this supplier is regarded as a reliable and longwearing wool option in outdoor clothing. Featured in Vogue and other publications over the decades, Bute is clearly a timeless textile choice.
