For International Women’s Day, Tuesday 8 March 2022, we are pleased to recognise and celebrate the clever, innovative and creative women who contribute to our fabulous industry.
Many of the women we work with are often at the helm of enormous European and American textile businesses. To name a few whom we work with; Bernie de Le Cuona of de Le Cuona, Barbara Osorio of Barbara Osorio, and most recently, Emilie Paralitici, Creative Director of Métaphores.

In 2020 Emilie took over the creative reins at Métaphores, the brand belonging to the Hermes textile division. Emilie is responsible for the creative vision of Métaphores, Le Crin and Verel de Belval – and the symbiotic relationship between the three.
The latest fabric collections are testament to her immaculate taste, contemporary vision and respect for the age-old expertise of this maison. As Emilie said in a recent interview with IFDM (Interior Furniture Design Magazine), “The desire to combine heritage and avant-garde is the leitmotif I have utilized to bring new energy to Métaphores. Building bridges inside the collections, especially with Le Crin and Verel de Belval lines, I have tried to stimulate eclecticism and uniqueness, to make Métaphores the promise of an unprecedented sensorial experience.”
We, at Boyac, also have a wonderful team of women (and some exceptional men) who run our head office and showrooms.
Principal of BOYAC, Susanna de Vienne has devoted herself for over fifteen years to the company. Her daughter Eleonore de Vienne is the Director of BOYAC and has been working in the industry for over ten years.
Here’s to celebrating the creativity of women in our industry!
