When considering traditional uses of textiles, the usual come to mind; curtains, blinds and bedding. However, this week we delve into the world of more innovative applications that you may not have considered. Here at Boyac we pride ourselves in providing all aspects of soft furnishings and even lighting. If you have ever stepped into our showroom you may have noticed our wall paneling.
Yes, they look beautiful, upholstered paneling softens whilst giving interest to an interior. The beauty of this technique is that it can be used in both a commercial and residential settings. Though there are aesthetic benefits, there are also certain practicalities of upholstered paneling. Acoustic levels can be controlled, with the reduction of echoes.
We have done this in our Melbourne showroom, using Creation Baumann’s ‘Acoustic’ fabrics. With this said, paneling is not only for walls, there is even the option of ceiling mounting, which is great in apartment settings.
Other effective options are creating the illusion of a statement headboard, why limit yourself to just the back of the bed? There is the option of choosing more traditional styles, to more minimalist contemporary detailing.
Thibaut’s new range of Texture Recourses Volume 5, showcases the perfect textile for paneling, what could be described as a hybrid between a textile and a wallpaper, this range offers flexibility and durability, whilst also being practical.
