07 Oct Friday Files – Timeless Paisley
An enchanting print of Persian origin dating back to the 18th century, paisley continues to rear its timeless head both in the fashion and interior worlds. The name derives from the town of Paisley, in West Scotland, a centre for textiles where paisley designs were produced. The bold print that embraces complex floral-like swirls and twisted teardrop shapes always wins designers loyalties. What can be done with the print by changing the colours, graphics and density make it extremely diverse and while the print generally hints at a more vintage appearance it suits both modern and traditional interiors.
Many of Boyac’s brands present this timeless print somewhere in their collections, but none more than de Le Cuona whose wool and cotton paisleys are recognized worldwide. de Le Cuona’s first dedicated paisley collection has just landed at the Boyac showroom and presents the most intricate, softly tactile paisleys in a kaleidoscope of stunning colours. Dragonfly, Meadow and Serenity each capture the modern spirit of this design classic. Another new collection of paisley prints is from Boyac’s own brand, Cordeaux and Co. Appropriately named ‘Kashmir’ it is one of two new prints that launched last month. It comes in three colours and adds diversity to the growing brand.
