Friday Files – Trend: Metallic

Flipping through the pages of the latest Vogue Living or Belle magazines you will notice more and more the introduction of metallic accents in our interiors. Be it through lighting, wallpaper or fabrics there is no denying we are seeing a growing trend of accentuating a space with gold, silvers, bronzes and coppers. The runways of Milan and Paris have also been adorned with shine and luster, showcasing just how the fashion industry can dictate the next trends for interiors. Metallics add an extra dimension of glean and texture to any room. We explored our ranges and pulled out our favourite metallics:

Thibaut have a great range of metallic wallpapers that add instant glamour and interest to any room. We haven’t shown it here but you have to check out Greater Gator in Gold!

Generally known for the sumptuous linens, de Le Cuona has a few metallic fabrics in the range. The gorgeous velvet with metallic paint, Antoinette can be used for upholstery, curtaining and cushions. The latest collection, Savage Couture, introduced Chanel inspired Siam – an intricate weave of linen and ribbons with a slight twinkle and Treasure, a linen which has had foils adhered to the surface.

This French company manufactures unique metal panels and lighting. With numerous shape and sizing options this really adds that WOW factor to a space. Great for commercial areas as they are all made from aluminum or stainless steel!

The silky base cloths and metallic threads in Creation Metaphors allows you to bring in gorgeous patterns with a metallic look. Manhattan is a glazed fabric created with metallic paper stuck onto a linen and covered in a transparent film. This one has to be seen to get the full impact!
